This policy explains what data perfect day ("we", "us", "the app") collects, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain and specific. It applies to the perfect day website, mobile app, and related services.
The short version. We collect only what the app needs to work: your email, the scripts and journal entries you create, your quiz answers, an optional voice sample, and basic playback counts. We use trusted providers to run the service, including AI providers that generate your script and voice. We never sell your data. You can access, export, or delete everything at any time.
We do not collect your contacts, photos library, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track.
perfect day uses third-party AI providers to create parts of your experience. We disclose this plainly because it involves sending some of your input to those providers.
These providers act as our processors and are contractually required to protect your data to the standard described in this policy. No automated decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by these systems. The AI generates content for you; it does not decide anything about you.
Voice data is sensitive. Here is exactly what happens to yours.
Voice cloning is optional and off by default. We ask for your explicit consent before any voice processing begins. If you choose it, your short recording is transmitted to Fish Audio, our voice synthesis provider, which processes it to build a personal voice model used only to read your own scripts back to you.
What we do not do: we do not store your raw recording on our servers, we do not listen to it, and we do not share it with anyone other than Fish Audio for the purpose of generating your model.
What Fish Audio does: Fish Audio retains voice data in line with its own privacy policy and may retain data for operational purposes for a period of time set by that policy. We recommend reviewing it at fish.audio/privacy.
To delete your voice model: email hello@joinperfectday.com with the subject "Delete voice model", or delete your account in the app. We submit a formal erasure request to Fish Audio citing GDPR Article 17 within 7 days and confirm when it is complete.
Your voice model is never shared with other users and never made public.
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation requires a legal basis for each use. Ours are:

You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the providers that run the service, each acting under a data processing agreement. Every third party with whom we share data is contractually required to provide the same or equal protection of your data as set out in this policy and as required by the App Store guidelines.

A fuller register of these processors, their locations, and the safeguards that cover them is on our Data Processing page. We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or in connection with a business transfer, in which case we will notify you.
We are based in Canada, and some of our providers are based in the United States and other countries. This means your data may be transferred outside your country. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognized safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, so that your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
Your data is stored on Supabase. It is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use row-level security so your records are only accessible to your own account. Access to production systems is limited and protected. No system is perfectly secure, and in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your rights we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where the law requires, and notify you without undue delay where the risk to you is high.

To exercise any right, email hello@joinperfectday.com. We respond within 30 days and never charge for a first request. We may ask you to confirm your identity to protect your account.
California residents: under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app, under Profile, without contacting us. Deleting your account permanently removes your scripts, journal entries, quiz results, and account record, and triggers a voice model erasure request to Fish Audio. You can also email hello@joinperfectday.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we will complete it within 7 days.
The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The app uses local storage and session storage to keep you signed in and to hold your in-progress work on your device. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-app tracking.
perfect day is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. Where local law sets a different minimum age for digital consent, that age applies. If you believe someone under the minimum age has given us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify active users by email before the changes take effect.
